HUNT FARMS

AGRICULTURAL CONSERVATIONIST OF THE YEAR

                    

In 1960 Bill Hunt's parents, Harold & Doreen, purchased a farm in the Davison area. In the early years they raised approximately 200 head of ewes and 30 head of beef cattle. They also farmed about 150 acres raising corn, wheat, hay & barley. While Harold worked full time at General Motors, Bill & his younger brother helped with the daily chores, and as the years passed Bill began to take on more and more responsibility within the family farm.  More..................

WILDLIFE HABITAT CONSERVATIONIST OF THE YEAR  (Non-Agricultural Award)

Andy House has lived in Montrose his whole life. He worked for General Motors for 30 years, hiring into the old Ternstead Plant right after graduation from high school in 1977.  He has worked at Fisher Body Plant #1 (home of the 1937 sitdown strike), Pontiac Truck Plant, Coldwater Road Plant, Saginaw Steering Gear Plant #2 and Plant #4, and is currently working at Flint Metal Fab.
